At Citipointe, the heart of learning is centred around the fulfilment of each child’s unique, God-given potential through the pursuit of excellence. Framed by our thoroughly Christian worldview, the library program fosters a love of learning through the enrichment of classroom programs and the development of a lifelong love of literature.

Students in the early years are invited to explore books that build their ability to read and comprehend the written word. Once the skill of reading has been acquired, older students are encouraged to read widely to explore a diverse range of topics and genres to expand their general knowledge and interest base.

Students attend weekly library lessons with their home class to borrow books and examine literature to identify and discuss text types, author style and moral messages. Special days such as Easter, Christmas and ANZAC day are also explored through texts to enrich student understanding of being a Christian and an Australian.

Our vibrant lunchtime program provides students the opportunity to read and borrow books outside their allocated class times, as well as build relationships through playing board games, construction activities, or using the computers for research or selective games.

Our library staff integrate faith, knowledge and the pursuit of excellence in a meaningful and interactive way so that our students can flourish and thrive.
