A foundation year of fun that makes a World of Difference.

Prep at Citipointe is nestled in its own secure learning environment. It is complete with a bike track, fort playground, sandpit and plenty of space for the children to explore. Classrooms are all air conditioned, equipped with the latest technology, with easy access to amenities and kitchens, withdrawal spaces and full time aides.

Every year our wonderful Prep students are given the opportunity to learn two languages (French and Chinese) and experience various cultural highlights from these countries. Specialist lessons throughout the year also include Music, Technology, Library, Health and Physical Education and Chapel. Phonics, sight words, numbers and Scripture verses are a focus in the classroom but children gain much more than just learning these skills. They discover that learning is fun and that it is safe to try.

In accordance with the Australian Curriculum, Citipointe Prep begins the year with a study on weather and its effect on our daily life. Later in the year the students turn their attention to talking about the past. Here they will learn that artefacts can tell a story. They gain insight into what life was like in the past and develop an understanding about family and friends through exploration of celebrations and heirlooms. The Preps see their amazing teachers in a brand new light as they reveal their own family history and display their own artefacts, which helps show that they were once children too!

Mother’s Day is a precious time in Prep with children preparing a special morning tea to honour their Mums. The children are given the responsibility of making invitations, cooking, preparing the room for the big day and serving their mums. Fathers also enjoy a special night with their Prep children with evening activities including spotlight, treasure hunting and classroom fun.

The fun does not stop there. With the celebration of 100 days of school, weather incursions, Alphamania Day and much more, the children have so much to look forward to, making the students want to engage in school. Citipointe Prep is committed to developing and fostering a love for learning and for God. As our children move through the year levels, they will realise that Prep doesn’t just set them up for success in Year 1. Prep sets them up for success in life!
