New competition for independent schools
Several Brisbane schools have introduced the Independent School Championship (ISC), pioneering a new era in Independent School sports. This initiative brings together Citipointe Christian College, Redlands College, and Brisbane Christian College weekly to elevate competition levels and boost team performance.
This landmark alliance is set to unite independent schools on Brisbane’s Southside with shared ethos and standards of play. Additionally, it aims to boost competition levels for improved team performance in state championships. Moreover, it seeks to cultivate community spirit and camaraderie among participating schools.
Sports include volleyball, basketball, football, netball, futsal, and touch, plus gala days for rugby 7s, beach volleyball, mountain bike racing, and tennis. Organisers aim to expand this initiative and welcome more independent schools on Brisbane’s Southside to join this new era of independent school sports.
The competition promises full-length games after school hours, allowing enthusiastic supporters to cheer on their teams. So, let’s come together as a community to support our teams and celebrate this milestone in independent school sports.
